Project Brief
This project is located at Los Angeles, California. The purpose of this project was to imagine alternative ways for people to work and connect, during and after Covid-19 times, without jeopardizing the health and safety of the users. While keeping in mind Covid-19 considerations we also had to keep in mind the end users. For this design the focus was to create a coffee shop for people in the age range from 16 to their late 20’s.
Concept Statement
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic it has made society increasing aware of the need for a “personal bubble,” this aspect becomes one of the driving forces of the concept. Spherical shapes are utilized to create semi-enclosed spaces for individual seating and group seating. Open seating areas are also implemented into the design to adapt back into the typical coffee shop layout. Semi-enclosed glass bubbles with be used outside to further incorporate this idea of a personal bubble, but also allows customers to utilize the outdoor space in various weather conditions.
