Project Brief
This project is located in Detroit, MI. Detroit has started to redevelop the downtown area in hopes to bring more people back into the city. Unfortunately, they haven’t done much community development outside of the downtown area, leaving many areas still underfunded, and poverty stricken.
The purpose of this project was to create a quality community center that could be an asset for Detroit, and a central component to enact change at the community level.
Concept Statement
A community center could be a valuable asset to any community. A well-run community center is a thriving hub of activity for youth, families, senior citizens, civic organizations, parks, and recreation departments, and more. At VOLVE we strive to foster community pride and convey people together. We provide opportunities for interaction, inclusivity, and community learning further as contribute to economic development. By supplying a popular destination for cultural, social, fitness and athletic activities, we are developing a culture of physical wellbeing, psychological state, and nutritional education to our community members.
